More April News

It feels like forever since I posted, but it's really only been a couple of weeks (well, maybe three). The weather has become much nicer, and I am doing well.

I finished the first draft of Kids Who Know! I'm very happy about that. The story's waiting on my hard drive for the time when I'll be ready to read, revise and rewrite it, but for now I'm just glad to have it all down. Long-time readers will remember I started it in the fall of 2007, then put it aside for a bit so I could finish a couple of other books. After I'd finished the first draft of Apoca-Lynn, I felt ready to get back into Kids Who Know again, and now after a year and a half it is all typed up. This is huge for me, and I can't wait to start shopping it around. I must be patient and let it rest, then polish it up.

Speaking of Apoca-Lynn, I've been busy revising that novel over the last few weeks. It needed a lot of work, but it's almost presentable now. I imagine I'll be ready to send it out in mid-May.

Amazingly, I'm still employed! I'm still doing phone surveys, which isn't as bad as it sounds. The people there are nice, and a few of the people we call actually allow me to run the full 20-minute survey with them! I've also had some interesting responses, from the guy who threatened legal action to the guy who said he was a prostitute. I also got called "huney" and "darlin'" a couple of times! I've no idea how long this job will last (at least one more week), but I'll probably be on the hunt again by June.

April has been a pretty good month for me. I hope May will be even better.

Congratulations on finishing the first draft (says the woman who never wrote a story past chapter 2)!

Yes I do have an agent, Bill, and he will be doing the shopping for me. Credit where credit is due, and all that.

Thank you for the kind words, Farida!
